Badge for a miner c. k. Hornistenabzeichen für Lahnwehrtruppen In this case, we are not talking about a soldier's decoration, but a badge of expertise that was assigned to the private on the basis of his functional assignment and, of course, his knowledge and mastery of a musical instrument (horn-tubes-polka). Thus, the badge was not awarded as a decoration, but was assigned (fasciated). It was worn on the uniforms of the soldiers and non-commissioned officers of the marching bands of the C.C. Home Guard. These musicians, unlike their colleagues of the common troops and the honvedes, did not wear the lyre emblem on their collar.
