Two unique medieval gold coins dating from the mid-14th century were discovered using a metal detector near Reepham in Norfolk County back in October 2019, but PAS archaeologists presented the find after its evaluation this week. They are rare Edward III coins from the harsh times when Europe was decimated by the plague. There are only 3 similar examples in English collections.

The couple who found the coin treasure in the forest near Bořitov will receive 500 000 from the South Moravian Region. The reward was approved by the councillors. The region wants to thank the finders for their exemplary behaviour and for handing over the depot to the museum.

Archaeologists have managed to find a clay jug with 870 silver coins in the village of Lučivná in the Tatra foothills. Coins of the Hungarian, Silesian, Tyrolean, Lower Austrian, Moravian and Olomouc archbishopric dominated the collection.
