Six years ago, the owner of a plot of land in Kostolné Kračany, Slovakia, dug up a coin hoard while working on a new swimming pool. The ceramic container contained exactly 312 silver coins. Specifically, there were silver thalers, half and quarter dollars and fifteen kreutzers.

In the 1930s, a Nazi expedition discovered a statue carved from a very valuable meteorite. It's believed to be about a thousand years old and has a swastika on its belly. The statue weighs ten kilograms and stands 24 centimetres tall.

Andrew Robertshaw from Surrey, UK, dug the 18-metre-long trenches in his garden. It's a perfect replica of the First World War. The military historian and teacher was helped to build the trenches by friends who had returned from Afghanistan.

A total of 477 silver coins from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries were discovered by archaeologists nine years ago when they carried out a survey during the renovation of a house that was formerly the town hall in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The coins were hidden in a leather shoe.
