3/23/2017 461 coins from the Thirty Years' War

Five years ago, archaeologists were summoned to a field in Plchůvky near Chocň by a woman who saw pieces of pottery and coins there. In the end, it turned out to be a ploughed treasure. It read 461 silver coins, mostly Prague grosz. The woman received a reward of 10,200 crowns.

Three years ago, treasure hunter Vladimír Vaník discovered a treasure in the forest near Kostelce. With the help of a metal detector he found nineteen silver groschen and a coin fragment. They date back to the reign of Václav IV.

The container containing 4.5 kilograms of coins was found under a dry toilet by a builder from Šurany in southern Slovakia. The money dates back to the rebellion of Francis II. Rákóczi. Experts eventually counted 1,725 copper coins.

The ancient Roman coffin was discovered nine years ago in Leicestershire by a treasure hunter. It was made of lead and experts say it's worth around £200,000. It probably belonged to a wealthy Roman family.
