Categories: Finds and rescue research in the Czech Republic
Hello, everyone,
I've added a butcher's buckle to the 2018 catalogue. Butcher | Treasure Hunter.cz
Once again, a big thanks to Kvasak, a handy guy for his golden hands. Straightening a buckle for a friend. | LovecPokladu.cz. I've been waiting to see who would post another one of the same, so far nothing. I put a link in the discussion, but it doesn't work anymore.
If you google, this Butcher's Buckles - Page 3 or a slightly differently made Butcher's Buckle.. Butcher's Buckle.. pops up. TOP | Aukro And the Russian site ASKALON, a forum for collectors without borders and restrictions, which sounds almost like a threat.... 22-Pryaga Германской Ассоциации мясников - 2.1 | Askalon - Forum for collectors without borders and restrictions Tam mě zaujalo na "ich" obrázku logo eMedals.
I šel jsem na stránky eMedals. The buckle is already sold and is supposed to be one of nine hundred artifacts from the sold out collection of militaria. A German Butcher's Trade Belt Buckle - eMedals The buckles and other artifacts, including this butcher's buckle, were looted by John R. Angolia from war veterans. And he wrote the book Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich
I gave the buckle to Associate Professor Chvojka's PhD student, Tomas Pancír, at the South Museum. He deals with war archaeology Contacts - WWII Bohemia - Archaeology 2. World War II According to the origin of the buckle from Angolius' collection and the fact that militaria is traded on eMedals, it could be a German field butcher, an unconfirmed speculation so far.
I have written to two more butcher museums, in Namesti nad Oslavou and Wallachian Mezirici. Only the Wallachians replied. They don't know the horsemeat. And they added a great piece of advice in the sense of - To whom you have given, ask :-D
Does anyone have any other reference to the buckle? Confirmation of military origin from multiple sources would be useful.
Apart from the few links mentioned, I haven't found much more. Can you help?
Thank you very much, Zbyněk Kadlec
