When I started selling my finds...

On Saturday I decided to repay my debt to the company and went to a small family festival in Hlásná Třebáň organized by the local volunteer fire brigade.

I took from the shop all the Minelab Vanquish metal detectors from 340 to 540 that we had in the showroom and for the little ones a Nokta Mini Hoard.

I spent some time thinking about how to make the whole event as fun as possible for the kids and finally came up with the idea for a little while after you knowover 30 years to put the socialist coins back into circulation, which I have a lot of from the beaches and they are often preserved underwater in a nice legible quality.

So I opened a small socialist unity with prices in CZKs and let the kids look for socialist coins in the sand. Apart from the usual assortment for children (sweets), there was also under-the-counter merchandise in the form of surgical steel rings, which are created as a waste material in gold mining.

For the boys there was an arsenal of fired Mauser cartridges, but also premium 0.50 BMG cartridges, which were of course the most popular. All this was supplemented by a few more socialist badges from uniforms I had recorded in the jar where I throw unsorted finds.

The first to sell was a steel ring with an integrated beer opener, which one of the good sons bought for his father 😀.

I even witnessed a couple of times when a mother persuaded her son to buy a steel ring instead of a pint 😀. Anyway, the interest in rings really caught me off guard and after about 2 hours, there was not a single one on the counter.

Overall I would say the event was a great success, even some kids refused to give up the metal detector and lend them to other kids. Either way, I have another year to collect steelhead and other jewelry for next year's event.
