"Agentes in rebus" were officials of the imperial court who performed various tasks. According to some ancient sources, they even spied on the inhabitants in the provinces and especially on their administrators, which is why they are sometimes referred to as spies or secret agents of late antiquity. Was this really the case?
The lectures will take place in the Visitor Centre and can be attended as part of the Visitor Centre admission price. Admission is free for civic collaborators of archaeological institutions (valid PAS card required).
