Funeral mass for the Archduke and his wife on the anniversary of the Sarajevo assassination in the Konopiště chapel.
On 28 June we commemorate the 110th anniversary of the assassination in Sarajevo, in which Archduke Franz Ferdinand d'Este and his wife Duchess Sophie of Hohenberg, nee. Chotkov.
At 17:45 the bell in the castle tower will ring and from 18:45 the bell will ring:The service in the chateau chapel will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will be celebrated by the parish priest of the Roman Catholic Church in Beneš.Marcel Timko for the Archduke, his wife and for all those who died in the First World War, which this assassination sparked.
After the memorial service, an extraordinary evening tour will be available from 7pm:00, with an organ concert, singing and a tour of the personal rooms of both spouses with an engaging narration by RNDr. Jiří Chramosta, dedicated to the events during the Sarajevo assassination (prior reservation required).
