Categories: Search events published on LP
From 13th to 15th May the 6th detectorists' meeting was held in Chabařovice camp. People were accommodated in cabins, in their own caravans, and a MASH tent was set up.
On Friday, May 13, the event started at the polygon, where Tomas Prejza gave a short training in detector setup. From 17:00 there was a lecture from a pyrotechnician and from 18:00 you could hear a lecture from archaeologist Jindřich Šteffl, PhD. At 8pm the raffle draw began, with the top prize being a Minelab Vanquish 540 Pro Pack and Minelab Pro Find 15 detector, donated by Minelab.
Saturday's day started with a lecture or training in detector setup ,,Minelab Tour 2022".
This event was followed by a square search competition in the water. The goal was to find five small aluminum coins in the shortest time. With the best time of four minutes, the winner was Jarda Rataj, who received a PRO FIND 15 tracking detector from Minelab as the winning prize. The second place went to Jesus, who won a wooden candlestick. The third place went to Libor Medved and his prize was a beautiful knife.
The next competition was archery. Everyone had three arrows per target and tried to score the highest number of points. The winner of this competition was Olda. Even the husband of the third place winner, tried out her prize - a knife - and cut himself with it so badly that he had to go to the hospital for stitches.
The next competition of the day was flint fire making. Originally the competition was set up for children, but it turned into a fire fight between the adults. First, Tomas Prejza demonstrated how to start a fire using resin wood and flint. After a few seconds the fire was burning. The competitors were only given flint. Everything else they had to find in the camp themselves. After the start, everyone scattered around the campsite for dry grass or something to catch a spark from the flint. The first one to light the fire was Libor. The prize was a flint and a box of resin wood. After the competition, the contestants took apart the flint from the competition.
On Sunday morning, the camp began to clean up. Polygon targets were dug out, holes were buried and the whole area was cleaned up. The flint people were at the fire pit again, trying to get at least a little spark.
Thank you for coming to the reunion and we look forward to seeing you again next year! Prizes for the contests were donated by Minelab and Zipsy Ltd.
