Opening of the gold exhibition in Jílové

The new beautiful and dazzling exhibition GOLD will open to visitors on 7 September. Five rooms of glittering splendour will offer so many experiences that they may cause a gold rush! The exposition will be permanent and eternal, like gold itself.

For example, visitors will witness the rebirth of Master Kelley, walk through an improvised adit with interactive elements, and see a replica of the world's largest gold nugget in addition to gold from every continent. With the help of modern technology, the old mining machines will be set in motion before your eyes, the visitorThe visitor will find himself in the world of medieval miners, see a show of luminescent minerals and gold coins. Since gold is a treasure, here too you will get a glimpse of one of the largest and oldest - the Underwater Treasure. You will even enter a model of the Chapel of the Holy Cross of Karlštejn Castle, where King Charles IV himself will materialize, and the highlight of the spectacle will be the extraordinary presentation of the St. Wenceslas Crown. At the end, there will even be an opportunity to weigh a "golden" brick. All this cannot be experienced anywhere else but in the city of gold, Jílové u Prahy in the House of Coin, formerly the Royal Mining Office, which now houses the regional museum. A themed educational programme will be available for schools and groups.
