Older Iron Age in the heart of Haná

New and often unique finds will be offered by the exhibition entitled The Older Iron Age in the Heart of the Haná, which draws on the rescue archaeological excavations of the Institute of Archaeological Heritage Care Brno, v.v.i. Prior to the construction of houses in Seloutky near Prostějov, a number of chamber graves from the Older Iron Age, more precisely the so-called Plateau Group of the East-Halstatic culture (7th to 6th century BC), were uncovered. The previously known necropolis is distinguished both by the construction of the chamber graves with a massive stone cave and by the rich composition of their inventory. After long and painstaking work by conservators, numerous ceramic vessels and valuable metal objects have been reconstructed and laboratory-treated. Take, for example, the complete iron equipment of a man - a horseman and warrior, representing the upper middle class of the society of the time. However, visitors can also see other selected objects (e.g. a set of luxury bronze vessels from Kralice na Hané) or reconstructions of finding situations (e.g. This will give them a fascinating insight into life in Moravia more than two decades ago.500 years ago.
At the exhibition, it will also be possible to purchase a popularization publication of the same name presenting the current state of knowledge Iron Age in Moravia with an emphasis on the latest results of archaeological excavations in the geographical area of Prostějov.
