You are cordially invited to the International Archaeology Day at the Mušov Visitor Centre - Gateway to Roman Empire, which this year brings a unique opportunity for all history enthusiasts and metal detector seekers. As part of this event, we will focus on the town of Jevíčko, where archaeologists discovered an important Roman military camp in 2016. This find, which includes a typical V-shaped spiked ditch, pushed the northernmost limit of Roman camps in the Czech Republic and brought new insight into Roman expansion in Central Europe.
At the event, you will meet the archaeologists who have investigated the find and learn more about how it can be used and metal detector in uncovering similar significant discoveries. For prospectors with metal detectors, this event will be a great opportunity to learn more about Roman history on our territory and how this history relates to modern detection activities.
