Archaeologists in the Cypriot town of Hala Sultan Tekke near Larnaca have uncovered a two-chambered tomb from the Late Bronze Age. The tomb dates from 1400 to 1300 BC. It contained a rich assortment of more than 500 pieces of imported luxury goods made of gold, silver, bronze, ivory, precious stones and richly decorated vessels from many cultures across the Mediterranean, the likes of which have never been found in Cyprus before.

Eight years ago, extensive research was carried out in the centre of Rýmařov in connection with the total reconstruction of Peace Square and Radniční Street. The archaeologists discovered the foundations of a house from the thirteenth century, but also a number of artefacts such as an axe-mlat or earrings.

Urban archaeologists in Augsburg, Germany, have uncovered a record-breaking Roman silver treasure. A beautifully preserved set of several thousand silver denarii from the 1st and 2nd century. century was found along with other artefacts near the city's oldest quarter, Oberhausen, on the site of a planned residential development.

Hundreds of gold and silver objects were discovered in autumn 2014 by a prospector with a metal detector in Scotland. Experts say it was the rarest Viking find in the country since the nineteenth century. The depot contained bracelets, crosses and brooches.

Axes, bronze bracelets and gold hair ornaments were found eight years ago by a mathematics teacher from Ústí nad Labem when he went for a walk with his dog. He was intrigued by a path that had been ploughed by wild boars. He was the first to discover the bronze axes.
