10. 7. 2015 Searcher finds prehistoric treasure

A three thousand year old bronze treasure was discovered six years ago in the Šumperk region by Vlastimil Flášar, a prospector with a metal detector. He stumbled upon the depot when he went for a walk in the forest. He discovered six necklaces and one pin.

Treasure hunters get 500 grand

The couple who found the coin treasure in the forest near Bořitov will receive 500 000 from the South Moravian Region. The reward was approved by the councillors. The region wants to thank the finders for their exemplary behaviour and for handing over the depot to the museum.

Archaeologists have found around a thousand iron objects on the Klášt'ov hill in the Vizovice Hills. They discovered sickles, scythes and sword fragments. The objects lay in a layer about half a metre deep, either individually or together. It is one of the largest iron treasures in Czech history.

He apparently originally went out with a metal detector to look for World War II coins. But he found a different treasure, namely 16th-century artifacts. He discovered several dozen copper ribs and an 18k gold apron.

Eleven years ago, Bulgarian archaeologists discovered an unprecedented golden treasure near the village of Dabene. It is located about 120 kilometres from Sofia. The depot contained fifteen thousand small and exquisitely crafted gold objects.

Detectorists have found a rare set of Carolingian silver coins, possibly from a Viking ransom

In a field near the town of Biskupiec in northeastern Poland, detectorists have discovered a treasure trove of silver coins from the Carolingian period. The roughly 1,200-year-old coin set may have been part of a historic ransom to protect Paris from a Viking invasion.

Emil Malý discovered the coin treasure with a metal detector in the forests around Cheb. He found exactly 85 mints from the thirteenth century. He received a reward of CZK 276 from the state, the region subsequently increased the amount.

For over 300 years, coins that were discarded by merchants fleeing a fire lay at the bottom of the River Thames. Now they're about to fetch thousands of pounds at auction.

Archaeologists have found a rare treasure from the Roman period and the late Iron Age in a cave in the English Peak District. The hoard contained gold and silver coins.

18 June 1910 The Loštice treasure contained silver denarii

During the lowering of the access road to the cottage in Loštice, a treasure was found in 1910. It contained 274 silver denarii. They were stored in a perpendicular container and a linen bag at a depth of about 60 centimetres below the surface.
