Reinhard Heydrich was a fanatical Nazi and the third most important man in Hitler's Germany. He even had an SS-3 license plate on his Mercedes. He planned the liquidation of the Czech nation, instead he was himself liquidated on May 27, 1942 by a pair of assassins.

He volunteered to be imprisoned in the Auschwitz concentration camp to find out what was being done to the prisoners there. But no one trusted the Polish soldier Witold Pilecki. After the war, he also stood up to the communists, who had him executed on 25 May 1948.
