Good Friday in the Golden Hole

The aim of the exhibition is to present the phenomenon of amateur collaborators of East Bohemian archaeology across time and to introduce one of the most important amateur searchers, Jan Klen.

Moravian Medals of the Renaissance and Baroque

The topic of the lecture focuses on the earliest phase of medal making in Moravia in the Central European context. It describes the creation of the first Moravian medals in the first half of the 16th century and presents a relatively complete survey of Renaissance medals (from the first half of the 16th century to the first half of the 17th century).

The Story of the Coin - Terra Bohemiae Coin

The paths of Czech coinage from the Latin Age to the present are presented in the exhibition in the ground floor hall. Numismatic facts and interesting facts are complemented by historical context. There are denarii, Prague grosz, ducats and tolars. Unique finds of our archaeologists and previously unpresented treasures are exhibited at Boleslav Castle.

Treasure from Domoušice or Luxury from the South

For just six days, the Regional Museum in Žatec plans to exhibit the treasure found some time ago during a detector survey near Domoušice. It is a unique set of gilded belt fittings in Byzantine style.

Ancient Germans on the Výrovka River

In the lecture you will learn about archaeological research in the area around Pečky, from the time of the first archaeologists to the present day. However, the main topic of the lecture will be the so-called Roman period, i.e. the first few centuries AD.
