A gold ring and a buckle from the period of the Migration of Peoples were discovered in Rakovník by two brothers working with archaeologists. The jewellery is inlaid with Bohemian garnets. They are currently on display in the museum as part of a new exhibition.

During earthworks in the Slovak village of Bíňa, Jozef Paulík discovered 107 gold coins. They come from the Byzantine Empire from the 5th century AD. The collection included coins of the emperors Arcadius, Valentinian III and Theodosius II. According to experts, they probably came to the territory of today's Slovakia thanks to a nomadic tribe of Huns.

Silver coins from the 13th and 14th centuries were discovered by a tourist near Piešt'any, Slovakia, under an uprooted tree. They were mainly Viennese pfennigs. The depot contained a total of 147 medieval silver coins. The discovery was reported by the Regional Heritage Institute in Trnava.

The vessel full of Celtic-Dacific coins was discovered in 1950 by Jozef Drabant when he was ploughing a field in the village of Ptičie. He hid the treasure in the attic, where it was found eighteen years later. 237 coins were saved. Drabant's son received 20 crowns for each piece. Some thought he had become a millionaire...

The rare artefact was discovered three years ago by an unknown finder in the Hradec Králové region. It was an iron axe decorated with silver. Nothing similar had been found in the Czech Republic until then. The axe probably dates back to the Great Moravian period. The finder was rewarded with 60,000 crowns.

For almost 500 years it lay beneath the surface. It survived hundreds of years of the Hungarian monarchy and dozens of battles. This is about the treasure found by the brigade in the centre of the Slovak town of Michalovce. The depot contained 574 silver coins.

Healed war wounds were discovered by scientists on skeletons in the ossuary in Žehuni. According to experts, they are warriors from the memorable Battle of Lipany, which took place in 1434.
