The unassuming tin cigar box held a real treasure. It was at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. One of the staff here discovered wood from the pyramid of Khufu in Egypt inside the box. Experts say the artefact is of incalculable value.

A set of twenty artefacts found by a metal detector near the village of Llanddeusant in Carmarthenshire dates from 1000 - 800 BC. It contains 20 artefacts - including three types of bronze axe, a broken spear, etc. It was declared a treasure late last month by Paul Bennett, chief coroner for Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.

The two rare Viking coins were discovered with a metal detector by Brian Morton, then a forty-three-year-old full-time carer. Experts say the coins are linked to a Viking raid on a nearby monastery. They are the first coins of their kind found in Northern Ireland.
