It sounds unbelievable. Sixty-three-year-old Debra McKenna lost her ring 47 years ago in Portland, USA, and a few days ago a metal detectorist found it near a forest in Finland. The jewel was given to the woman by her boyfriend and future husband in high school.

An unusual-looking ring has been discovered by a metal detectorist in Buckinghamshire, south-east England. The jewel has two snake heads touching each other. It has already been declared a treasure by the coroner, although it is bent in various ways and no longer looks like a ring.

A set of 19 Iron Age gold coins was discovered last February near Blythburgh in Suffolk. They were found by a detectorist over an area of about 10 by 19 metres. Experts say it is a "truly unusual" find in the East Anglian region. The coins have now been declared a treasure trove and museums are racing to see which will acquire them for their collections...
